At Dinglewell Junior School we provide a rich and vibrant curriculum.
We see learning as a journey and the children as intrepid explorers, creating an ethos of excitement and a drive to learn.
We have identified 3 Strands that underpin everything we do: Discover, Inspire and Nurture. Our Curriculum also has 6 Golden Threads that weave through every subject and ensure that our pupils have access to a rich, diverse and relevant education:
Values
Knowledge and Skills
Progression
Language and vocabulary
Experience
Resilience
Our School Values: Our children are good citizens and have a sense of belonging.
Knowledge and skills-based: Our children are curious, knowledgeable and aspirational.
Progression led: Our children do more, know more and remember more.
Language and vocabulary rich: Our children are good communicators both orally and in writing, and we inspire a love of reading.
Experience rich: Our children thrive from a rich and vibrant curriculum
Resilience: Our pupils approach tasks with a positive mind set and are willing to problem solve.
Each year group focuses on a particular theme each term, starting with a key question, challenge or experience to set them on their way. At the end of term the line of enquiry is brought to a conclusion with a celebration of achievements, such as a display, a charitable event or a competition.
