Dear Y5 Parents and Children,
If you are well enough to complete work whilst self-isolating, please use the links and files below.
If possible, each day, please could your child complete:
- a Maths and English task from one of the links below
- practise spellings daily (look/say/cover/write/check practice sheets are available on the Spelling link below)
- practise times tables daily (e.g. play TT Rockstar Soundcheck)
- read for 15 minutes (we are currently reading Beetle Boy by M G Leonard in class)
- watch BBC Newsround.
In addition to this please feel free to complete a topic based activity. These do not need to be completed every day.
There are also some handwriting practice sheets in the link below and we will be adding to these resources throughout the term.
Please use "Padlet" to share your completed work.
Year 5 staff will give regular feedback to My Maths tasks online and to the work shared on Padlet. We are also available to answer any questions that you may have via email:

Next week you will have the opportunity to ask scientists any questions you like about Physics (mechanics, heat, light and other radiation, sound, electricity, magnetism, and the structure of atoms).These scientists will be online for 40 minutes and will respond to as many questions as possible during this time.
In order to access this online chat, you will need to register (this will take about 10 minutes) and be online ready at least 5 minutes before your chat is due to start.
